Saturday, November 18th, beginning at 8 AM, plein air artists will be appearing up and down Wilton Drive from the Rainbow Bridge to 5 Points where NE 26th Street, Wilton Drive and Dixie Highway meet. Given the abundance of quirky architecture, colorful murals and a myriad of street sculptures, there’s something for everyone to paint and we hope artists will join us!
Art for exhibition will be selected from the submissions we receive after the paintout ends at 12 Noon and we are including a children’s section in hopes that our youngest artists will join in the fun of showing their work. There will be a Kid’s prize category, too! Our volunteers will spend the afternoon creating an exhibit of plein air art under the guidance of Janet Onofrey, an award winning artist and teacher living amongst us right here in sunny South Florida.
At 5 PM, Art Gallery 21 will open the doors to reveal the exhibit and celebrate the artists who share their talent with our island city community. Our jurist, Janet Onofrey, will select the winners and we’ll present cash awards around 6 PM. There will be music and refreshments and we’ll have a really good time!
Art Gallery 21 is grateful for support from the City of Wilton Manors and Broward Cultural Division to bring this event to the community. This exhibit will be open free to the public on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 12 Noon to 6 PM through December 9th.
