Dirk Eberle is a Florida Painter. He’s also one of our devoted volunteers, assisting our gallery curator, Robert Gross, with hanging the shows. You might think it’s easy to just hang art on the walls, but, there’s some thought that goes into it. Each artist has a story to tell, and, Bob knows how to allow the art to reveal what that story is. With Dirk’s assistance, they create a beautiful art exhibit every single time. Visit the gallery and you’ll see what we mean.
Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 7 PM, Art Gallery 21 will unveil its first summer exhibit, THE FLORIDA PAINTERS. Please join us for a refreshing beverage, a little conversation and some jaw-dropping local fine art. You will be surprised to discover oils and watercolors and pastels rendering Florida landscapes and studies of local flora and fauna. You’ll see character studies of everyday items that evoke a connection between the art, the artist and the viewer. It’s a lovely experience and we hope you’ll come spend a little time with us and share in the art at your neighborhood art gallery, Art Gallery 21. We’d love to see you again or meet you for the first time.
THE FLORIDA PAINTERS

We’re super excited and looking forward to the opening of a new exhibit on Saturday, January 6th at 7 PM at Art Gallery 21! It is with great pleasure that we present the art of Robert Gross and Celia Diaz with Dirk Eberle, Errol Gross, Natalee Jones and Louise Meredith.
Robert Gross is a gifted art teacher, and, he is also well known for his series of paintings, The Disappearing Pastures of Broward County, in the early 21st century. Many of those pastures are gone and now serve as the sites of shopping plazas and multi-family homes. In the last few years, Bob has taken to creating paintings of the watery landscapes of the Everglades. He claims that the light moves across the water, changing the view from one minute to the next, and in each moment there exists a bit of beauty. His watercolor paintings capture the sky reflected in the water and create a peaceful work of art that is soothing to the spirit. Of course, you have to see them for yourself to fully understand and appreciate the talent of this sweet man, and, you’ll have the opportunity to do that throughout January.
It is an extraordinarily beautiful exhibit. The caliber of work ranks among the finest art available locally and surprises in this exhibit bring a wonderful world of color as it spills from the brushes of all the artists. Recently, an artist commented … “the light is different here in south Florida.” Maybe that’s what draws creative spirits to live and work here! And, how lucky we are that they are willing to share their work with Art Gallery 21!
Please join us on January 6th for the unveiling of this new art exhibit! We’d love to see you again or meet you for the first time!
On Saturday, December 9th at 7 o’clock in the evening, Art Gallery 21 will unveil the exhibition of our 2017 Island City Juried Art Show Winners.
This year’s group of five Winners is a delightful mix of personalities and artistic styles. Our blue ribbon winner, Abel Marquez, delivers extraordinary (and large) images created with pastels while third place winner, Susan Marie David, presents amazing sculptures, large AND small, some charming enough (and cheap enough) to take home!
We’re excited about the work of Ray Arce, a newcomer to our gallery and the art world. We’re sure you’ll be mesmerized by the amazing watercolor images of Tammy Seymour because they reveal a splendid creative spirit and our second place winner, Roslyn Roth, shows amazing attention to detail in her beautiful watercolor portraits of local flora and fauna.
We are always especially enthusiastic when we discover new talent and we are so grateful to be a part of each artist’s journey! Art Gallery 21 is the perfect place for artists to get started showing their work and building their reputation as a creative spirit in south Florida. And, we throw a great opening night party, too!

Please join us at 7 PM Saturday evening at Art Gallery 21 as we unveil this year’s spectacular showcase of work created by 30 of our finest local artists. Local African American artist and teacher George Gadson served as our jurist, selecting 45 wonderful examples among the entries we received to grace the walls of our little art gallery. The mediums are diverse; from oils, watercolors, acrylic and pastels to photography and mixed media. Large and small, we have it all. And, the majority of them are for sale!
We will celebrate with music by Cindy Curtis & Company, and refreshments provided by Nick & Shawn’s Courtyard Cafe. Come meet the artists. You’ll make new friends and you may run into old ones. After all, we’re your neighborhood art gallery. We mean it when we say we’d love to see you again or meet you for the first time!

As we say goodbye to the Smithsonian exhibit, we’re also saying “Hello!” to a new art show! There’s no grass growing under these feet! Our curator, Robert Gross, and his assistant, Celia Diaz, have created another special showcase of artists and we hope you will join us to celebrate the way Art Works … the way individuals add beauty to the world with canvas and paint … the way that beauty brings us together to share in the joy of creativity … and, the way that joy spills over into our daily life, often enriching our lives in ways we hadn’t previously considered. THAT, my friends, is how Art Works!
