Acrylic skins are made from dried acrylic paint. They serve to embellish a painting, much like a baker embellishes a cake with floral swirls. In this two-part series, Fran Mann Goodman shows you how to prepare, shape, and attach the skins. She will share her many techniques that will have you wowing viewers at their sight. Written step-by- step instructions are included.
PART 1 Friday, April 25th 1-3:30 pm
Begin a painting and prepare the skins.
PART 2 Saturday, May 3rd 1-3:30 pm
Finish the painting and attach the skins.
Supply List:
All the acrylic paint color you will need to create your painting. This includes interference, florescent, metallic, etc .
Canvas
Disposable SHINY palette paper (must have a sheen on one side)
Mediums like molding paste, pumice, mica, (optional)
Palette knife (preferred) but you can use brushes too
Gallon sized freezer bag
Gel gloss medium for gluing
Thin paintbrush

About the artist: Fran Mann Goodman is an award-winning painter with works having appeared in over forty exhibitions in New Jersey, Manhattan, Toronto and southern Florida. Her pieces are in private collections internationally. Goodman is a member of the National League of American Pen Women and the National Association of Women Artists. For ten years she has taught a class online and in-person that blends art history with applications in abstract expressionism to both beginners and professional painters. Goodman has published numerous articles about her craft. A sought-after speaker and workshop leader she has been featured in several Florida publications, including Delray Magazine and Boca Magazine.
