Looking ahead …

Our fall exhibit closed last Friday night and the gallery is dark until January. We anticipate some painting and sprucing up will be going on during December so we’ll look really spiffy when 6 Hands Collaborative opens their exhibit on Friday, January 8, 2016.

IMG_0398The three artists who make up the “6 Hands” are Janet Gold, Deborah Gregg and Andrea Huffman. These amazing artists will host an Affirmative Banner Workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers on Saturday, January 23 from 11 AM to 1 PM, courtesy of the Broward County Creative Investment Program Grant. The workshop is being presented in partnership with Gilda’s Club of Fort Lauderdale and is open and free to the public. (Funding for this project is provided in part by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners as recommended by the Broward Cultural Council.)

The new year of 2016 includes our fourth annual juried art show! Art intake will be held from 10:30 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, February 6. There are cash prizes for the top three winners along with an exhibition of the winners’ work in Art Gallery 21 from March 18 to April 8. We will host an art social to celebrate the Island City Juried Art Exhibition on Friday, February 12 beginning at 7 PM and the winners will be announced and presented with ribbons! Complete rules and entry form are available here in a downloadable PDF.

Color WheelArt Gallery 21 is very pleased to present a Color Theory Workshop with Janet Onofrey, Broward College Professor and the 2015 winner of the South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship Award for Visual & Media Artists. The 2-day workshop will take place on Saturday & Sunday, February 20-21, 2016 from 10 AM to 4 PM at the gallery. A complete description, art supply list and registration information can be found here.

All of us at Art Gallery 21 extend wishes for much peace and joy during the holidays and we look forward to seeing you again or meeting you for the first time in the Happy New Year of 2016!
