WILTON MANORS, Fla. — Art Gallery 21, Wilton Manors’ local neighborhood art gallery, will host the 12th Annual Island City Juried Art Exhibition Opening Reception & Awards Ceremony this Saturday, Sept, 16, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Island City Cultural Center located at 600 NE 21 Court in Wilton Manors, Fla.
40+ pieces of beautiful and unique artwork were submitted to this year’s Juried Art Exhibition by local artists, ensuring that this year’s exhibit will feature diverse and captivating art in a myriad of mediums including photography, mixed media, pencil drawings, oil paintings, sculptures, and more.
Art Gallery 21’s founder and president, Constance Ruppender, along with the organization’s board members and local volunteers will welcome attendees and artists with refreshments and music for a delightful night full of art and socializing while spotlighting and supporting local artists from Wilton Manors and the surrounding areas across Broward County. Art Gallery 21 board member, Matthew Dreger, curated this year’s juried exhibit.
Our jurist selected the art included in the exhibit and chose the winners who will be presented with cash awards and ribbons. We are most grateful to local artist and art appraiser, Chris Ingalls, for her time and consideration in selecting the three winners. In addition to the money prizes, they will get an exclusive art exhibit of their work, aptly titled “THE WINNERS’ SHOW” in December at Art Gallery 21 from Dec. 18th through Jan. 8, 2024. No topic or imagery concept was imposed on this year’s Juried Art Exhibition art submissions, making this year’s show diverse, covering a variety of concepts including love, nature, celebrity portraits, character studies, abstract art, and more. Art Gallery 21 will have this year’s Juried Exhibit on display and available to the public every Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m, and by appointment through October 8, 2023.
