Call for Artists

With funding from the Broward Cultural Division and Art Gallery 21’s supporters, we will present an art exhibit to honor the late Mayor, Justin Flippen. It was Justin who brought forward the idea of declaring the manatee as an official City Mascot. The manatee is a gentle, lumbering creature that can be seen in the waterways surrounding the island city, and the three manatee statutes being created especially for this exhibition will be placed in public parks once the exhibit closes.

Art Gallery 21 will be accepting artwork depicting the theme of “Manatees and Mermaids: The Art of Sea Cows and Sirens” and for those interested in entering, the details can be found here.

Partial funding provided by the Broward Cultural Division as recommended by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners.
