Book Art Workshops 2020

Art Gallery 21 is pleased to announce that we are offering three art workshops as part of THE BOOK PROJECT: SPEAKING VOLUMES in January and February 2020. Each workshop is taught by a member of 6 Hands Collaborative, the curators of the exhibit that will open on January 18, 2020.  Materials provided. Fun for all ages.

mini leather book necklaceWORKSHOP 1: Mini Leather Book Necklace with Deborah Gregg

SATURDAY, JANUARY 25 from 4-8 PM
Participants will create a one-of-a-kind miniature leather book necklace. Make a unique work of art! Suitable for ages 10 and up.

20190924_185627WORKSHOP 2: It’s the Journey, Not the Destination with Andrea Huffman

Using pages from old map books, participants will create a simple fold-out journal to record their journey, real or imagined. Map pages will be altered with paint, collage and stamping, in order to document where life has taken you and where you envision yourself going next. Come along for the ride! Materials provided.

IMG_7679WORKSHOP 3: Life is Wiggly with Janet Gold
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1 from 12-2 PM
Create a make-and-take book entitled “Life is Wiggly.” A simple bookmaking process will be covered in this two-hour workshop. Your work of art will provide a guided tour of your life; your past, the present, and your future plans. Discussion and quiet time allowed to reflect and write your personal answers to the text provided in your hand-made book. Due to the intimate nature of this workshop, seating is limited. Materials provided
